Scraper designed for restoring windows and removing old putty

When window paint starts to peel and chunks of putty fall off, it’s high time for a little window restoration and repainting project. Our putty scraper makes it easier than ever to remove paint and glazing putty from glass and grooves. In just 15 minutes, you can remove old paint and putty from the entire face of a window. Additionally, the scraper features an ergonomic handle that makes the job even easier for you. Our putty scraper can be sharpened on both ends.

The Putty Scraper is designed for scraping paint and putty from glass, grooves and other nooks and crannies. The blade follows the shiny surface of the glass, leaving almost nothing behind.

Putty scraper tips and tricks:

  • Make sure you scrape surfaces completely clean before painting
  • Use our IR light to heat old putty
  • Lift and lower the scraper before each new stroke
  • SKU:  4-0203-ISD

The putty scraper works best paired with the putty chisel, designed to remove putty from window sashes.

Expert Advice You Can Trust

Chris lives nearby so I hired him for advice about adding insulation and Unico AC to our 1889 house and repairing the antique carriage doors on our 1930s garage. He spent an hour with me looking at everything thoroughly and making suggestions, then followed it up the next day with a detailed report complete with explanatory photos and contact information for a couple of craftsmen he thought could help me. His enthusiasm was a pleasure and his expert advice was both helpful and reassuring — much like it is online.
